Bouquets for State Rail
The Sydney Railway system and staff often get a bagging but I would like to commend them on a very positive experience this week. I was travelling on the 6.01pm from Martin Place to Cronulla on Tuesday night and the train staff told us which station we were approaching during the journey. I found this very helpful as when you approach Sutherland it is very dark and once I nearly missed getting off as I did not see the sign on the previous station and was distracted while reading.
But the real bouquet goes to the driver or guard who told us why we were stopped short of Sutherland station. Rather than being left waiting and wondering why we stopped, we were told they had to wait for a signal to change and it should not be too long (which it wasn’t).
Well done to these unknown staff who really understand what customer service means.
