Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 3 November

The Astrological Pluto

SCORPIO

If you are being held back by fears and doubt the next few weeks is a good time to confront them. With both Neptune and Uranus liaising with your sign, patterns can be dissolved and changes made. If you dare!

SAGITTARIUS

Energy levels are high and there is no holding you back. Change and excitement is needed so don’t be surprised by any impulsive decisions or moves that you make. Patience is at low ebb so others beware.

CAPRICORN

Patience is what you have plenty of this week, utilise it well by completing all those pesky little tasks that have been building up till they are at mountainous proportions - thus clearing the way for more worthy tasks.

AQUARIUS

You may have to contend with a sudden or unexpected occurrence that involves others this week. Your initial reaction may be to terminate the association but if you give yourself a little time you may find you will come around.

PISCES

You may feel like you are coming out of a bit of a fog this week, able to realign and focus on what needs to be done. So stop procrastinating and get your thought processes in order, clarify your thinking and just do it.

ARIES

No one can say you are afraid of a little action so when your ruling planet Mars hooks up with Jupiter and Neptune an opportunity may arise for a little water activity to come your way. Seize and enjoy.

TAURUS

Tension in your relationships hopefully causes you to reflect on any of those pleasure-seeking activities you may have been indulging in. There may also be a susceptibility to throat infections.

GEMINI

Mercury’s movement into Scorpio in the early hours of Thursday morning joins the Sun and Mars in your solar 6th house. This is a good time to sit down with your work mates and discuss any problems (particularly underlying ones) that are occurring.

CANCER

Your actions are a bit unpredictable this week surprising yourself and others. Those around you, particularly the men in your life, are shaken out of their complacency receiving a much-needed jolt.

LEO

Situations may arise this week that cause tension within the home front and puts a strain on the family dynamics. Try working together as a team instead of everyone pulling in separate directions. What’s best for family not individual.

VIRGO

Your observations are pretty keen this week and if you put your mind to it have the power to convince those that need convincing and influence those that need influencing. Go to it.

LIBRA

Venus, tied up in an astrological pattern called a T Square with Saturn and Uranus indicates that your work and sibling relationships require higher expectations than you are prepared to give. Wanting room to breath.

THE ASTROLOGICAL PLUTO

Pluto has raised a bit of controversy over the last few years since his demotion by astronomers from planet status to dwarf planet.  He is also about to enter Capricorn after spending around 13 years in Sagittarius and remains in this sign till around 2024. Pluto, and Scorpio the sign it rules, represent a principle, which we are all subject to: the cyclic process of change, decay, death and renewal.

Only discovered in the 1930s this ‘dwarf planet’ has made a huge impact on contemporary astrology. It is also interesting to note what was happening in the world at the time of his discovery. Coinciding with the rise of the Third Reich and World War 11 and also the atomic bomb we gain a sense that something was released or unleashed in the collective human shadow. The repercussions of the death and destruction caused by these events has affected humanity ever since, changing the way we think. Issues to do with the power we give our leaders, and the hypnotic power a leader has over the masses, and how we as individuals must accept responsibility for the repercussions.

The underworld was Pluto’s domain in mythology and, in psychological terms, the underworld is synonymous with the shadow and the unconscious. The ego (our Sun sign) is the centre of consciousness and what we are aware of or identified with in ourselves. Beyond this are all those attributes and elements of ourselves which we have not yet connected or integrated with so lie in our unconscious.

Pluto’s role in our horoscope and by transits and progressions is to make us whole by putting us in touch with and forcing us to confront anything that is buried within. This can be our repressed demons and complexes but also our untapped or undeveloped potential.

There is no easy way around it - Pluto forces us to confront the beast in order to find the buried treasure.
