Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

Seeing Stars for the week beginning March 24

Some commonly asked questions

ARIES

Rules and regulations tend to stifle the spontaneity of our birthday rams who would rather act first and suffer the consequences later. Try to apply the breaks as a little bit of forethought can save a great deal of trouble.

TAURUS

Feelings are heightened this week as your ruler Venus holds hands with Mercury, planet of communication. This gives you an increased sensitivity to the feelings of others and a desire to please.

GEMINI

Highlighted for you also Venus and Mercury in the sign of Pisces sees you verbalising, sharing ideas and generally sprouting your opinions of love to any and all who will listen. Quite the social butterfly in fact.

CANCER

Insight into a situation that has been bothering you allows for some very subtle changes to occur. This then provides the impetus for the separation of emotional responses to a more logical answer.

LEO

Don’t allow that Leo pride to override your good sense this week. You can be a little obstinate at times (I’m sure this is news to some). Accept some help, it will save you from overtaxing yourself.

VIRGO

Mercury your ruler in the opposite sign of Pisces may see you taking some flak that is not justly deserved. You will be understandably peeved but this does not mean you have to put on that poor me, woe me attitude.

LIBRA

Librans may find their partners more demanding this week and feel like they are sacrificing their own needs and wants. Although you don’t need an excuse to socialise, seek some company to cheer you up.

SCORPIO

You may find yourself becoming increasingly aggravated by children, particularly teenagers and find yourself endlessly quarrelling. This makes for an uneasy and strained relationship. Try and remember who the adult is.

SAGITTARIUS

Sudden developments or breakthroughs sees you feeling on top of the world. It will require and draw on your ability for a rapid comprehension of the situation and a need to be careful with the facts.

CAPRICORN

With the Vertex (point representing role or part we play that is not a matter of personal choice or events involving other people) moving into Capricorn and therefore your Solar first house, image becomes increasingly important.

AQUARIUS

Tension and arguments with neighbours may be a bone of contention. Try not to allow this to blow out of all proportion as neighbours are a bit like family, we generally don’t choose them, yet have to live closely with them.

PISCES

The soft, sensitivity of your nature is on display this week and you may appear rather dreamy or fey. Others will find it hard to pin you down and you find it difficult to commit yourself.

Some commonly asked questions

What is astrology?

Astrology is the study of the universe, of cycles of the planets in relation to space, Earth and time. Hence our need for an accurate time, date and place of birth. The point of reference is a simultaneous connection with life on Earth.

Using a psychological or person centred viewpoint, astrologers define patterns created by these cosmic physical cycles as SYMBOLICALLY reflected in the psychological make-up of an individual. Therefore, astrology is a system of thought. It is a philosophical doctrine, which serves to incorporate certain (though not all) absolutes at work in our solar system through its own symbolic language and principles.

How does it work?

When we are born at a particular moment we reflect the pattern of the universe at that moment. We effectively have a ‘micro-cosm’ rooted in our personality that is reflected and correlated with the’ macro-cosm’ of the universe. This pattern continues to unfold in a cyclic manner throughout our life in accord with the cycles of the planets. We chart that moment in a form we call the horoscope or natal chart. The horoscope is a map of a moment in time.

Dane Rudhyar has the birth chart or horoscope as “a set of instructions…. showing you how in your particular case, the ten basic energies (the luminaries, planets) of human nature should be used to the best advantage; that is in order to enable you to consciously work with them at all times.”
