Sharks equal on top in WABL
After 6 rounds defending premiers the Sutherland Sharks are in equal top spot with the Parramatta Wildcats on a game percentage of 83%. The Sharks are undefeated on the boards but had to forfeit a game due to playing an unregistered player.
In its round 6 game the Sharks were too strong for the Norths Soul Sports Bears, coming out as winners 101 – 77.

The Sutherland Shire Sharks Under 13s knocked over the previously undefeated Blacktown City Demons 2 – 1 in Round 9 of the Premier Youth League Soccer. The 13s are now on equal points with Blacktown but remain in second spot on goal difference.
The other Sharks sides were beaten by the strong Demons teams who are in the top 5 of all grades in the competition.
The Sharks Under 18s are now in 4th spot while the 16s defeat saw them drop out of the top 5 on goal difference.

Under 18: lost 1 nil Sutherland Stadium to Host State Basketball Finals
Basketball NSW has announced that the Sutherland Basketball Association will host the Waratah Australian Basketball League (WABL) and State Basketball League (SBL) finals on August 4th and 5th.
The Sharks are the defending champions in both the Men’s Competition and the Youth League Women.
As the Sharks men’s team is currently in equal first place on the ladder, there could well be a significant local presence on the finals weekend.
